There are different kinds of categories of licenses that you can apply for by training with GP training for programs like PCV training, LGV (HGV) training, B + E car and trailer training and CPC driver training. The driving training we provide at GP training is a complete combination of practical driving sessions and theoretical classroom teaching. This ensures that you not only learn to drive well but are also aware of all the driving related facts like traffic rules, road safety laws and so on. For instance, you should know that the kind of vehicle you are allowed to drive would depend on your age. It is also a rule that the vehicle you drive should be legal and safe for the roads.
The trainers we have at GP training are all registered with the DSA or driving standards agency as ADI or approved driving instructors. Apart from being experts at driving as well as providing training, our trainers are also adept at different languages. Hence if you are not a native English speaker and have trouble understanding English, it would not be a problem for you to train at GP training. Our trainers would ensure that you understand each instruction clearly and are comfortable with the language by speaking to you in a language you are comfortable in.
The vehicles we use for training you are of the kind you would be training for you. What is meant by this is that if you are joining PCV training or passenger carrying vehicle training for driving an 8 passenger seated minibus or a D1 minibus license, you would be trained with one. Similarly if you are training for C1 – license for driving large good vehicles, you would be trained using such a vehicle. All our vehicles, for that matter, are well maintained such that there are no problems while you learn to drive. There is also dual control systems fitted into each vehicle such that there are no chances of any mishaps during your training.
There are other categories, apart from D minibus that you can apply for by undergoing PCV training and they are D automatic bus, D manual coach, D + E coach & trailer and D1 + E minibus & trailer. The category you would be eligible to apply for would depend on your age of course, the kind of vehicle you would drive i.e. if the vehicle is manual you would need either a D1 minibus or D automatic bus, all the others are for automatic passenger carrying vehicles, and the number of passengers you would be carrying in your vehicle.
The categories you can apply for by undergoing LGV (HGV) training, apart from C1 – license are C up to 32 tons, C + E truck and trailer, C1 + E license and C1 + E – 7.5t + trailer. Here too the category you would be able to apply for would depend on your age, the kind of vehicle i.e. if the vehicle is articulated you would need the C1 + E license, all the others are for rigid vehicles, and the weight of the good you would be carrying you’re your vehicle.
The B + E car and trailer training is for driving a towing vehicle and depending on the weight you would be towing with your vehicle, you would either need a B + E license or a B license.
There is a requirement for another training though, if you want to drive professionally. This is the latest necessary requirement for professional drivers. You have to undergo driver CPC training along with any other training you choose. The CPC training consists of several driver CPC modules but for initial qualification you would need to pass the CPC theory test which consists of two essential parts, CPC driver modules 4 and 2. Module 4 is a practical test while module 2 is the CPC case study.
