To be a good driver, you do not need anything else other than a little dedication and willingness to learn the details of driving. When you come to GP training, we do not see whether you are a beginner or an experienced driver, we just train you in driving skills with practical lessons and theoretical classes such that you become a world class driver.
GP training in Pinner, London offers various driving programs like LGV (HGV) training, driver CPC training, PCV training and B + E car and trailer training for both beginners as well as experienced drivers. Based on your age and the kind of vehicle you are interested to drive, you can enroll for one of our training programs. Each of the training programs are further categorized into different parts based on the kind of vehicle you would be driving. Given below are the details.
If you choose to opt for PCV training or the driving training program meant for driving passenger carrying vehicles, the categories you can choose from are D1 minibus, D1 + E minibus & trailer, D automatic bus, D manual coach and D + E coach & trailer. Depending on whether you want to drive an automatic vehicle or a manual one as well as the number of passengers you would be carrying in your vehicle, you can choose your category. The D1 minibus and D automatic bus are for driving manual vehicles while the others are for driving automatic vehicles.
Similarly by choosing LGV (HGV) training you opt to learn driving large good vehicles or heavy good vehicles. The categories of LGV (HGV) training are C1 – license, C1 + E - license, C1 + E – 7.5t & trailer, C – up to 32 tons and C + E truck & trailer. You can choose among articulated vehicles and rigid vehicles. For articulated vehicles, the category would be C1 + E license and all the others would be for rigid vehicles. The weight you would be carrying in your vehicle would also decide the category that would be suitable for you.
You can also opt to learn driving the towing vehicles with B + E car and trailer training offered by GP training. Based on the weight your vehicle can tow, you would either need a B license or a B + E license.
Regardless of the training program you choose to follow and regardless of whether you are a new driver or an experienced one, if you want to drive professionally, you have to undergo CPC driver training. Since 2009 this particular requirement has come into play and you would need to pass the CPC theory test to qualify as a professional driver. The theory test consists of two parts. Among the several CPC driver modules you have to qualify for the CPC driver modules 4 and 2, with 4 being the practical driving test with the vehicle of your choice and 2 being the CPC case study, which is to find out your understanding of your on road situations.
The trainers at GP training are all multilingual apart from being ADI or approved driving instructors registered with the DSA or driving standard agency. Hence you would not have any problem understanding the practical driving instructions or the theoretical classes even if you do not understand a single word of English. The vehicles we use for training are not only completely safe since they are fitted with dual control systems but we train with the vehicle that you would be driving later on. That is to say that we would train you to drive a towing vehicle with a towing vehicle only.
There are other advantages of joining GP training too apart from the ones mentioned above. Along with training you to be a safe yet skilled driver we would also assist you with every kind of documentation too that would be needed for getting your license. The forms you would need to fill are the provisional entitlement form or the D2 and the medical form or the D4 and submit to DVLA. We would not only assist you in filling the forms but would also submit the forms on your behalf to DVLA.
If you are worried about failing your driving test, we provide a cover for you as pass protection and PCV pass protection which would allow you to re appear for a driving test.
