Have some spare time in your hand after your exams are over and do not know how to spend it? Why not learn driving? It would not only be a fruitful use of your time but would eventually help you in more ways than one. You can go around in your own car and if not anything else you can make a career out of it and earn some money as well. But it is important that you get your driving training from a good institute like GP training. GP training would not only help you to learn driving but would make you a skilled and knowledgeable driver.
There are many programs offered at GP training you can choose from. Regardless of the training program you choose, we would ensure that you not only get your desired license but know all about driving. You can make your choice from PCV training, LGV (HGV) training, B + E car and trailer training or CPC driver training and regardless of whether you are new to driving or an experienced driver, we would train you with equal importance on every detailed aspect of driving.
The training programs of GP training are created keeping in mind the fact that driving training is not only about practical teaching but also equally about learning the rules, regulations and traffic laws theoretically. Hence you would undergo practical driving lessons along with theoretical classes. Do not worry about the medium of instruction i.e. the language, even if you do not understand English, you would not face any problems with us. The reason is all our trainers are multilingual apart from being approved driving instructors, registered with the DSA. The theory books provided at GP training are in various languages as well. Hence language would not be a barrier if you come to us for driving training.
You do not have to worry about safety either, while learning how to drive for the first time since all the vehicles we use for training are well equipped with dual control systems. Even if you lose control of the vehicle during your driving lessons, your trainer would have control of the vehicle and there would be no mishaps or accidents.
There are different kinds of vehicles used too, to train you for the different training programs. At GP training we would never use a passenger carrying vehicle to train you for large good carrying vehicle or vice versa.
The passenger carrying vehicles training or PCV training has categories like D1 minibus, D1 + E minibus & trailer, D automatic bus, D manual coach, D + E coach & trailer. You would have to make your choice based on the kind of vehicle you wish to drive i.e. if you want to drive a completely manual vehicle, you should opt for either D1 minibus or D automatic bus. It would also depend on the passengers you wish to carry and of course your age.
Similarly the LGV (HGV) training or large good vehicles or heavy good vehicles training has categories like C1 - license, C1 + E - license, C1 + E – 7.5t + trailer, C – up to 32 tons, C + E truck & trailer to choose from. Again, the kind of vehicle you want to drive, the weight of the goods you want to carry in your vehicle and your age would be a contributing factor in deciding the category.
You can also opt for the lesser trodden path of driving a towing vehicle. In that case you would have to go for B + E car and trailer training. Like the above two kinds of training, the maximum weight of the vehicle you tow would be the factor deciding whether you would need a B license or a B + E license.
Whichever kind of training you choose, if you want to get into professional driving, you would have to undergo driver CPC training. It is a necessity as per the latest legislation of 2009. There are several driver CPC modules but initially you would just have to qualify for CPC theory test that includes CPC modules 4 and 2. Module 4 is the practical test and module 2 is CPC case study. Apart from that you would also need to undergo a periodic 35 hours of training after every 5 years.
You can also opt for a special service at GP training pass protection and PCV pass protection, which would enable you to sit for a retest if you cannot clear your driving test at the first go. We would also assist you to fill up necessary forms like D2 and D4 as well as submit the forms to DVLA, on your behalf.
